An estimated 1.8 million students are expected to graduate this year with a bachelor’s degree. As exciting as it is to have so many new additions to the workforce, graduates are nervous about competing with each other for jobs.

Sparefoot recently released an infographic featuring the a by-the-numbers look at the college Class of 2013.

These new professionals are entering a workforce where unemployment among young college grads is 8.8 percent. Despite this unemployment rate, there is good news. Employers expect to hire 13 percent more graduates from the Class of 2013 than they did from the Class of 2012.

Graduates hoping to land jobs as software developers, accountants, market research analysts, computer systems analysts, and human resource specialists have an even greater chance at successful employment.

There are many other factors in addition to jobs that will affect graduates, including living situations. According to the infographic, some of the best cities for the Class of 2013 are Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Denver, Houston, and Seattle. Despite these options, 80 percent of college graduates would relocate to a city where they can find a job rather than moving to their favorite city. Of those planning to move, 75 percent will relocate outside of their college town.
