I am a member of the Promotions/Marketing Committee of a student-run, life and style magazine at Penn State called Valley. This is my first semester working for the magazine, and already I am gaining so much experience from the organization. This week I was put in charge of Valley‘s twitter feed, which is really exciting for me because it is exactly one of the things I love about PR: social media.
Our page does not have very many followers, so I have been trying to find different ways to spark conversations on Twitter and Facebook. I ask questions in attempt to engage interaction, but it seems that nobody wants to be the first one to share their thoughts. My goal is to get more activity on our social media pages. Hopefully, if I am able to do so, I will be able to keep this job for the next few years.
I am so glad I volunteered to do more for Valley. I am learning so much!
