Ever since the day I moved home for the summer, I have been busy busy busy! The first week I was home, I had internship interviews all over the Philadelphia area. While this was exhausting, it was great experience to perfect my interview skills. By the end of the week, I accepted a marketing internship at Partyspace.com, a wedding planning company for Philadelphia and its surrounding counties.
My first day on the job was Tuesday, May 17th. Over the course of the summer, my duties include: focusing on social media outreach (Twitter and Facebook), learning SEO and putting it to use, Google Analytics and metrics, as well as contributing to the site’s blog and other features. Aside from the online marketing aspects, I am also involved in planning promotional events for Partyspace’s buy local registry called Registry10.
The first big event that we are putting together is our first ever Bridal Barn Sale. It is an opportunity for brides and brides-to-be to sell and buy all sorts of wedding supplies. The event will be located at one of our wedding venues on Sunday, June 12th. A portion of the table registrations will be donated to Wish Upon a Wedding. It is really exciting to see the event coming together.
It’s been really awesome to be in such a fun environment for my first internship. I work with two other interns and two Partyspace directors. Now that I am getting used to my schedule, I am excited to continue to write about my experiences throughout the summer.
